Karen Flattery learned nonprofit fundraising and community relations from the ground up.  Her nonprofit career began as a part-time office manager that led to a position as Volunteer Coordinator followed by several posts as Director of Development. Through her work in small organizations, she learned to be a fundraising “generalist” and to create and implement broad-based fund development programs that generate a steady stream of income through annual appeals, corporate and foundation funding, special events and major gift campaigns. Over a twenty-five year career, Karen worked with several organizations as a consultant but primarily served as a member of staff leadership teams.  Her work experience includes: Manager of Development and Community Relations for Jewish Family & Children Services; Director of Development for the Drumm Farm for Children; Executive Director of the Alliance for Stronger Families; and most recently as the Chief Development Officer for Village Shalom.  Karen has extensive experience and expertise in helping nonprofit organizations to “tell their story” in a way that will generate excitement and inspire current and prospective donors.
